ABOUT CATHERINE

Catherine Heath is a director, photographer and multi-disciplinary visual creator with a background in live television, having worked on major award shows, events, and game shows. Her work leans into emotional depth with a subtle thread of humor, guided by her visual instincts as a cinematographer.

A graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film, Catherine trained in the latest techniques at one of the country’s top film schools. She approaches every project as a thoughtful and enthusiastic collaborator, committed to creating work that not only meets its objectives but resonates - whether by evoking emotion, cultivating a distinct aesthetic, or building meaningful engagement with an audience.

After making her directorial debut with Seascape last year, Catherine is excited to continue developing narrative work, including her latest project, One Last Day, for audiences and festivals alike. Drawing on her experience in directing, cinematography, and graphic design, she creates visually compelling, purposeful work across mediums.

“I Used To" - Chapman Application Video

This short film was the "about me" introductory video essay I used to get into Chapman’s Dodge College of Film, and this video still holds a special place in my heart. It's also still (12 years running!) the highest viewed Chapman Application Video to date on YouTube with over 44,000 views.
